E-40, who was born and raised in Vallejo, has been an icon and
inspiration to his city since the late 1980’s when he first came on the
scene in music. Since then, E-40 has gone on to sell millions of albums, toured
the world, appeared in television and film and remained a constant force and
brand in pop culture. No matter where he went, E-40 has always remembered to
carry a little bit of Vallejo with him.
Helping E-40 out with this event is Stockton native and UFC
Lightweight contender Nate Diaz. As one half of the Diaz Brothers, Nate is a
force to be reckoned with in the world of Mixed – martial arts but also
finds time to do good for his own community and those around to his own. As
mutual admirers of each other’s work, this union of a great artist and
great athlete for this even greater cause is of even more significance.
This has been a busy month for E-40 and his philanthropic duties
as he just came off the ultra- successful toy drive with Kinder’s BBQ and
SF Giants pitcher, Sergio Romo that collected countless toys for the children
of Contra Costa County.
Of the Sergio Romo Toy Drive E-40 said “It was a
successful and memorable event so I had to make sure that I came home and did
one for my city”. E-40 also mentioned that Kentwig Lanes was good enough
to open their doors to him and his foundation to put on this event for the
kids.
